Who are we?


We are iappANZ, a not-for-profit association of Australian and New Zealand privacy professionals incorporated in Victoria, Australia. We are affiliated with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), based in York, Maine, U.S.A.

 

Our aim is to provide our members with a credible and dynamic forum for Privacy Professionals in Australia and New Zealand, enabling our members to share and acquire expertise while promoting privacy as a profession.

 

We are conscious of your rights in relation to privacy protection, in particular when handling your personal information through your membership of iappANZ or the use of this website.

 

We adhere to both the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988, (AUS) and the Privacy Act 1993 (NZ) which both set out a number of principles that concern the protection of your personal information.

  • register for any of our events

  • undertake any of our courses, apply for accreditation or attend any of our continuous professional development programs

  • to our affiliated organisation in the United States, IAPP, for the purpose of identifying you as a member of iappANZ in order for you to enjoy recognition as a member and entitlement to such benefits as IAPP may make available to members of iappANZ, and

    • information technology services, or
