Who are we?
We are iappANZ, a not-for-profit association of
Australian and New Zealand privacy professionals incorporated in
Victoria, Australia. We are affiliated with the International
Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), based in York, Maine,
U.S.A.
Our aim is to provide our members with a credible and dynamic forum
for Privacy Professionals in Australia and New Zealand, enabling our
members to share and acquire expertise while promoting privacy as a
profession.
We are conscious of your rights in relation to privacy protection, in
particular when handling your personal information through your
membership of iappANZ or the use of this website.
We adhere to both the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988, (AUS) and the
Privacy Act 1993 (NZ) which both set out a number of principles that
concern the protection of your personal information.
How we collect personal information
We collect information from you when you:

- register for membership
- register for any of our events
- tell us about your areas of interest
- undertake any of our courses, apply for accreditation or attend any
of our continuous professional development programs

purpose of identifying you as a member of iappANZ in order for you to
enjoy recognition as a member and entitlement to such benefits as IAPP
may make available to members of iappANZ, and

- mailing operations
- information technology services, or
- web site usage analysis.

confidentiality and privacy obligations in relation to the protection of
