South Australia Branch
President’s message
Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the South Australian CENA web page! As a committee we strive to promote emergency nursing in our state through education sessions, fundraising and social events. Through these platforms we also provide emergency nurses an opportunity to network with colleagues from metropolitan and rural hospitals in the public and private sector across the state.
This is my first term as President and I am looking forward to meeting many of our members. Our committee has undergone quite a few changes in the past 12 months. We have lost some great colleagues and as a result we have an almost brand new committee of eager individuals. For the first time we have a rural liaison in Barbra White. We hope this will help us to engage with our members working in rural and remote areas. Working alongside me CENA SA also has a new Vice President in Megan Wake. Together we are excited about the year ahead.
Your voice is important and your input is appreciated. If you have any comments, questions, ideas or suggestions please don’t hesitate to contact us by emailing sa@cena.org.au.

CENA SA Scholarship
In 2011 CENA SA hosted the 9th ICEN in Adelaide. The conference was a great success. To give back to all the members who supported this event, we are excited to offer a scholarship to attend future ICEN. The award provides a maximum value of $1000 to cover registration fees and assist with additional costs related to travel and accommodation. Please refer to the link for more information.
Representation
Opportunities exist for members to represent CENA at a state and national level. There are a number of committees and opportunities to be involved in policy review. In previous years CENA SA has been influential in determining improvements to staffing levels within metropolitan emergency departments of SA.
